New Job

Start a new job on Monday, as Assistant Manager at Sue Ryder Care's Ellesmere Port shop. This is a return to work for a company l was employed by in 2007, before l went to Help the Aged.
There is a role reversal this time, as my assistant manager is my manager and l am her assistant....Not that it matters to me, we have such a rappor, that we bounce ideas to and fro till we get it right and we make money left, right and centre....
The mayor of Ellesmere Port is coming to open the shop on 6th October at 12.00pm and there will be light refreshments and raffles galore...
Watch this space....

Breast Cancer

Got a very very upsetting phone call from a friend on Monday night...She was going into a private hospital to have a mamogram as some months ago she had noticed a lump in her breast, but not done anything about it......

The lump now was noticeable through her TShirt, Bra etc... Even when she saw the doctor, the doctor said OH YES!

My friend has heard all the comments and knows deep down she should've gone sooner, but fear sets in and you think......OSTRICH!

But beleive me it doesn't go away and now we all sit and wait with baited breath to here what is what....

My friend who is very dear to my heart, though we live so far away from each other, knows that at the drop of a hat l will come if she needs....

Please, please check yourselves regularly....It is not only your life, but your families and friends lives as well that are affected.....

Knitters Club

Went to Borders books on Tuesday and whilst sitting reading through some magazines noticed some ladies coming to a large table near me...what is happening here l thought... Gonna watch and see...
Over the next ten minutes several more ladies appeared and sat down at the table, meeting and greeting each other....
l plucked up courage and went and asked what was happening....It was a knitting club and they meet at Borders Books on Cheshire Oaks every fortnight to knit and chat...
Well l am going to pop along to the next one and bring my friend Luda from the Ukraine.....

Explosion- Flying Debri

Sitting here at my computer at 10.00pm on Tuesday night, minding my own business when, l heard a loud bang. l looked out of my draft room window to see a fire through the hedges at the side of the garden.
peter and l went outside to see that it was a large fire, so we rang the fire brigade. They said they where on their way as they had had a report of a lorry on fire.
On fire it was, and black and grey and white smoke was billowing over the hedge into ours and our neigbours garden.
Some silly neighbours went onto the road to see what it was and take pikkies.
All of a suden there was a loud bang and debri from the lorry/tanker came flying over the hedge into the area at the back of our house missing our neighbours car by inches...
the fire, smoke and debri flying into the air with some sudden explosions carried on until about 12.30-1.00am on Wednesday morning. the police had cordened off the road and the fire brigade where waiting till the fire died down to tell what was in the lorry/tanker...
At 3.30am on Wednesday morning after dowsing the fire for a long time the police and fire brigade finally left....
What a night and morning....

Huggles for Dad

This is Bethany and Peter at a Barby yesterday.
It was Peter's mum's 73rd birthday and because
of the funeral at the beginning of the week, we
didn't celebrate it with a party.
Instead we had a family gathering and had a barby
instead....
Fun was had by all and this shows Bethany giving
her dad a HUGGLE later on in the day....

Worst week

Had one of the worst weeks of my life....
Family funerals. l am so drained by it all.
first it was Peter's auntie and Bethany's god mother on Monday.
She passed away on Tuesday 7th July from Cancer. She had been poorly since November 2007, after undergoing Chemotherapy and Radium.
It started in her chest and they contained it for a while until it went to her hip and from there it mastersized so that it spread throughout her body quickly...

then on Wednesday it was my brother's wife who also died from Cancer. She had ben struggling and fighting against it since 1999. She had cancer of the adrenal gland around her kidneys. she finally gave up the fight in a local hospice, where my brother said she passed away in her sleep at 5.00pm on Sunday 12th July.
This funeral was upsetting for me as l had not really spoken to my brother , since my mum died in 2003.
l feel for him, as he has not only lost his wife, but his best friend as well.........
